There will be an animated reading for kids, belonging to “Leggo anch’io” initiatives on Friday, April 1, 2022, at 17.00 at University Central Library (building u6 Agorà, Piazza dell’Ateneo Nuovo 1, Milano).
Martino Negri, professor of Childhood Literature and Literature Didactics at University of the Studies of Milan-Bicocca, and Federica Gardella, a teacher at Bambini Bicocca Primary School, will read “The last beach” by J.P.Lewis and R.Innocenti (La Margherita, 2020).
A painter who lost inspiration chooses to depart to Who knows where in the hopes of finding it back. Along with his old red Renault 4, he reaches an isolated inn facing the ocean, in the middle of nowhere, and stops there with the company of singular and mysterious characters to live days where time dilates and seems to flow silently and full of secrets.
Will he be able to find what he lost? Will he be able to go back home or, at the end of the story will he face new adventures; whether they are real or imaginative ones?
“The last beach” is a book full of fantasies and truth-is not difficult to find the very same Roberto Innocenti in the figure of the painter- and it’s a tale made up of words and images that invite the eye to rest, explore, recognize and be surprised: a book that “heals” from the hurry and speed, teaching slowness and the importance of contemplation.
The animated reading is especially for kids from elementary and primary school.
