Speakers of the event are Pietro De Marchi (professor of Italian Language and Literature at the University of Zurich and the University of Bern; fine scholar and limpid author of poetry and tales), Francesca Caputo (professor of Contemporary Italian Literature, University of Milan-Bicocca), Gabriele Iannaccaro (professor of Entolinguistics and General Linguistics, University of Milan- Bicocca) Franca Zuccoli (professor of General Didactics and Image Education, University of Milan- Bicocca).
In this event, for the students, teachers, scholars, and citizens (especially those from the Bicocca district), the book “Con il foglio sulle ginocchia” (A paper on the knees), written by Pietro de Marchi, will be presented.
The audience and speakers will ponder on the “sense of inheriting”
The starting point of this reflection will be the portraits the author depicted of unforgettable teachers and friends like writers Luigi Meneghello and Giovanni Orelli and the critic and philologist Dante Isella.
One more starting point will be the delicate fragments of “someone else’s autobiography”(those of his grandparents- who moved from Veneto to Milan to work in Pirelli factory in the 30s; and the one of the father- glottologist and decennial teacher of Latin and Greek at Liceo Parini).
“What have our fathers and mothers left for us? Whether a lot or not, to inherit something, we have to live up to it: even if just a word or a verse, we have to be capable of catching in a gesture, a letter, or an object, the epiphany that lights up our path. An epiphany which will also light up the way of those who are coming after us, when the moment will come to leave for others our small or big heritage (P.di Stefano)
A professor of linguistics and high school student of professor Valentino de Marchi; an educationalist and scholar of the relationship between material and intangible heritage, and a professor of Contemporary Italian Literature, curator of Luigi Meneghello’s work, will reason with the author.
