A meeting titled “Donne contemporanee e nuove frontiere della maternità. Carriera, Social Freezing, inseminazione eterologa” (Contemporary women and new horizons for maternity. Career, Social Freezing, heterologous insemination) will be held at University Central Library (building U6, piazza dell’Ateneo Nuovo 1, Milano) on Thusrday,March 17 at 17.00. The goal of the meeting is to analyze how the concept of maternity changes and evolves in the society we live in.
What tools does a contemporary woman have to face the difficulties of reconciling private and working life? Is it the desire to build a career or the lack of policies sustaining families why women postpone maternity and influences fertility?
How is the boom of fertility techniques perceived in Italy, both in the medical and legal fields?
We will deal with these topics with Rossella Canevari, author of the book “La bambina del freddo” (BookaBook, 2021), and Lorena Forni, professor of law philosophy at the University of Milan-Bicocca.
Guido Biondi, journalist for “il Fatto Quotidiano” will lead the discussion.
