MuDiB - Museo Diffuso Bicocca and the Cultural and Documentary Services Area are opening the photo exhibition “Life in Bicocca: Stories from the protagonists”, which will show the winning works and a selection of the best photographs from the contest with the same name.
The exhibition, which will be held at the library spaces, offers an intimate look at daily life within the University of Milano-Bicocca and its vibrant surrounding neighborhood. Through the lenses of local students, residents and workers, the photographs tell unique and authentic stories that reflect the diversity and vitality of the Bicocca community.
The works on display, offer a variety of perspectives, from ambient portrait images that capture the essence of the people who live and work in the neighborhood, to evocative street photography that tells the story of urban life in its most spontaneous and authentic context, to powerful reportage that documents the deepest and most relevant facets of Bicocca's reality.
The exhibition also offers visitors the opportunity to vote for their favorite photographs, thus determining the winners of the Special Prizes in each category.
“Life in Bicocca. Stories from the protagonists” provides a unique opportunity to immerse oneself in the richness and diversity of life in Bicocca, celebrating the stories and experiences that make this neighborhood so special and vibrant.
The exhibition will be open to the public from May 15 to Sept. 28, 2024 at the exhibition space of the University Library Headquarters (building U6 Agora, second floor, Piazza dell'Ateneo Nuovo 1, Milan). Admission is free and open to all who wish to discover and celebrate life in Bicocca through the eyes of its community, during the following days and hours:
Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
